Farming in Wladfa

A day in the life of a farmer in the Wladfa is very similar to a day in the life of a farmer in Wales. This is what Alejandro will do on a normal day.

6:30 – Get up and light a fire straight away. Drink mate with Erica my wife.

6:50 – Wake the children.

7:20 – Take the children to school. Go to the farm and spend the day there.

14:00 - Work on the farm all afternoon. Preparing to sow, feed the animals (common white pigs, merino sheep, Aberdeen angus cows and dogs).

19:00 – Come home from the farm and relax

21:30 – Eat supper – usually pasta, I don't eat meat at night.

23:30/00:00 – Go to bed.

This is what Bryn will do on a normal school day.

6:50 – Get up.

7:20 – Go to school.

13:00 – Come home from school and eat lunch with the family.

14:00 – I do different activities every afternoon, for example exercise, Welsh lessons, English lessons and tennis in the summer.

17:00 – Have tea at home, with my friends or with my Grandparents.
I help my Grandfather on the farm.

22:00 – Dad will read a Welsh book to me like Diwrnod Ben-digedig. Then it's bed time.
